Steadily average-great show! Free show openers are rare, so that is of course thrilling. Roses Are Free, unlike more recent versions of the song at the time of this review, actually features a little jam-let, but the jam feels sort of tacked on (evinced by the labeling by LivePhish.com as Worcester Jam, perhaps?) Julius is a bit longer than usual, and Maze is awesome, but Bathtub Gin feels kind of downtempo compared to some of the more distinguished versions of that song. Page shines during the Down with Disease second-set opener and Sand -> Nellie Kane is a great and unexpected segue, replete with Fishman not dropping out in order to regroup rhythmically. Approximately 7-min.-each Mike's Song and Weekapaug Groove? Well, I'll take what I can get. 2001 is also--like Roses Are Free--jammed a bit more than's become par for the course at this point in Phishtory, which bespeaks the fact that, whatever faults early-to-mid 3.0 may have had, at least some of the more popular songs were jammed somewhat that have since become strictly Type-I in orientation.
