MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 499

Welcome to the 499th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the second puzzle of April - thanks to @sumac22 for the clip! The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate for LivePhish.com. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of the mystery clip. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 AM ET. Stay safe!

Answer: Congrats to first-time winner @PhishinAccomplished on identifying the 6/25/97 "HYHU" and taking home a $10 gift certificate to LivePhish.com. There will be no MJM next week...

Announcement: It's been a hell of a run for the MJM, folks - more than 500 (!) puzzles covering 900+ jams across Phish's history. Personally I have been at this for 6+ years and 300+ puzzles as host, and was a contestant for several years before that - shoot, I won my first MJM 10 years ago. The good news is that the MJM isn't breaking up. The bad news is that a) we ran out of LivePhish codes to give away last month and I've been gifting them out of pocket and I can't do that indefinitely, b) I've run out of time and energy to do this week-in, week-out, and c) while we have a steady core of dedicated and beloved posters and lurkers (we average several thousand pageviews per MJM), the demand just isn't as high as it once was for this series. So what's happening? MJM will shift to more of an irregular thing - a few times a year instead of once a week. When we do run a puzzle, it'll be a little more special and we'll try to put together cool prizes for Phish fans from the Mockingbird archives. And perhaps most importantly, we'll start it off with a freaking bang, just like Phish would: MJM500 is coming soon, and we'll be giving away some amazing prizes, including an unopened copy of TPC3!! Emeriti will be allowed to play - in fact, only previous MJM winners will be allowed to take home the prize to prevent any funny business with such a sought after prize. Once I've finished up the puzzle I'll announce when the contest begins and the rules etc., but I'm hoping to run it before tour starts this summer. Thanks so much for playing along everyone, and I'm looking forward to wasting more time with you in the near future. - @ucpete

I'm nervous about 500! I remember 400 being incredibly tricky and I'm looking forward to whatever Pete has up his sleeve :D

Agree. That’s obviously a hood tease in there, not credited on the set list.

Yup, Fish definitely dancing around Dog Log - not hearing any Hood teases, just some jamming that sounds a little like the Hood intro
