MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 452

Welcome to the 452nd edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the third of February. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of both mystery clips, which are connected by a theme. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Stay safe!

Hint:

Answer: Congrats to @sumac22 who used the hint to go back-to-back and snag their third win! Will we see threepeat next week, or will we see another MJMer take down the triple clipper? Check it out...

mcgrupp81 I tend to tag jams like Jam #1 with "cicada" in my personal chart. I could see it messing with some people tripping at the show.

Pinhead_Larry I know exactly what the second jam is, and I can't wait for someone to tell me what the first one is!

Zands Being from Ohio I honestly wish that was what cicadas sounded like, Mcgrupp. Not looking forward to hearing those bugs this summer hahaha

Me too! Driving me crazy. Can't find the theme. I keep thinking I know the era of #1 but no dice on the trails I've gone down.

I'm pretty sure I know the first one. Second though is driving me mad. Sounds really familiar.

NICELY done!

I got #2 right away. I knew #1 was 2011 but could not for the life of me pick out what the hell it was!

Pinhead_Larry Welp this is a tough loss for me as the first clip is from my first show. Very nice catch, @sumac22

mcgrupp81 I thought Jam #1 might have been from June 2009 because it had some jams with that "cicada" sound. The fact that the jam sounds like it was going into Ghost doesn't help with the identification process either.

I noticed that every other Aug '98 show was featured in MJM and 8/11/98 Jim was the cherry on top. I don't know if that factored into the choice, but it certainly worked out well. I might be mistaken, but I could have sworn I saw a review of 8/11 where a couple chit chatted with Page pre-show and mentioned how they liked Time Loves a Hero and casually mentioned it would be cool to hear it again as Page was leaving.
